Well USA could go either way this WC. Yes they have improved since last WC but you have to add in the group they are in. If its not the hardest its one of the hardest. Then you got add in the 1-0 loss to Morocco a few days ago. Yes they went to the quarter finals last WC but adding all those figures in, Can the US make a good showing?

Whats ur insight?

I think better result for USA will be 1/8 :P

Good luck

Crikey Zenjuk, positivity not got a place in the Latvian dictionary?

I like the US they play genuinely attractive football using the wide man and doing things at speed.

Felt sorry for them drawing Italy and the Czech Republic in their group, they could muscle in on them but I'd be surprised if they did.

The US have an excellent soccer programme now and they have even got it into the college system over there. I can see them beinga real force in 20 years time.

And as for coach Bruce Arena, what a name!

Actually their star player is DeMarcus Beasley of PSV Eindhoven.

McBride might appear to be an average Premiership striker but the US base their game around getting down the flanks, stretching opposition back fours and providing crosses for him.

Being from Bolton you'll appreciate that Mexico do the same with Borgetti.

Lets look at USA's group though.

Italy - It's very difficult to assess them because of the match fixing scandals going on. How many players from the top clubs were actually involved? How many of them have been really trying?

I also feel that they are the weakest they have been for years.

Czech Republic - A good team and some people's dark horse but I think it's popular to call them dark horses now. Nedved is a shadow of himself and Baros has been struggling.

Rosicky is world class though. Good signing Arsene!

Ghana - Strong but negative African team with an excellent midfield including Essien and Appiah.

Not sure who will get the goals for them.

You can get around 2-1 for the USA to get out of the group. They have been together for six weeks(!) and have that great US team spirit.

Don't write them off.

italy are not playin very well it probley the worst italy side iv seen and yes they av bin involded in a lot of constroverse over that last few weeks i think the czecks are the strongest they are 2/1 2 win the group i think thats a massive price i think they should b favs 2 win it maybe about the 4/6 mark so 2/1 is massive i think the only african team that will compeat at this level is ivory coast they looks ok in the african nations and u know my view on the americans baros was not playin well at liverpool in 04 and he still won the golden boot nedved might not be playin that well but how in the group will b matchin him up cus im sorry 2 say he wont need 2 b at his best 2 win the battle against some of his counter parts

Ghana probably have the strongest midfield in the group, Essien and Appiah are very capable of nullifying Nedved.

I agree that 2-1 is a big price for the Czechs to win the group but all the Yanks would have to do is draw two and win one. Not exactly looking for a miracle.

I am with you on this one Spytty.....I reckon they may well do a lot better than many people expect....their group is a very tough one though......any 2 of those 4 could go through in my opinion.
