Yet again Im drawn into a non-poker but footy related topic, so here it goes.
Adriano every time. I had a pre-world cup bet on him being top scorer, and if Robinho had been seleceted ahead of the Michelin Man, I mean Ronaldo, Im sure it would be looking a good bet. In Brazils first game, a Slovakian Washing Machine could have provided better movement, and in the second game vs Brazil, Adriano and Ronaldinho had to more running round than usual becuase of Ronaldo's incapability to move more than a 3 feet, meaning they were both busy winning/chasing balls instead of gettin in or near the penalty area. As soon as Robinho came on, the little whippet did more running in 5 mins that Ronald Mcdonald did in 70 mins and created space and time or Adriano and Ronaldinho to do their stuff, and Adriano duely got his goal.
The Ronaldo of old was a player who specialised in running at defenders, at times 3 defenders at once, using his pace and skill to weave his way into a goal scoring opportunity. The Ronaldo of today reminds me of Michael Owen, lost his pace, has a poor touch, and is now a 'fox in the box' striker reliant upon qualioty serive.
