Does anyone else here do woodworking for a hobby?! I started doing a little bit here and there, and about 5 years ago I started to take it more seriously. Two years ago I turned my garage into a workshop and now I have a place to go work when I'm in the mood. I've started making small desk clocks and childrens puzzles. It's a nice stress relief, especially after some bad beats in poker! LOL.
Curious to know if others out there do woodworking as well.

I don't do woodworking but I do decorative painting on wood. It is a real talent to be able to do the actual wood pieces...... way to go.... I always appreciate nicely crafted wood pieces to paint......

the painting part is not my forte! lol. i would love to get your opinion sometime. i'm not sure if i'm allowed to post my site here for you to see, but if i am able to, i would love your insight just on the products in general. always helps to get feedback, especially from another crafter.

I'm building a guitar ATM, I must say it's very relaxing (the woodwork). However it can also be frustrating when the dimensions don't add up And it's tiring if you work a whole day.

great hobby shell77 i canny beleive i missed this thread....just shows how much there is to read on wass....yes i am biten by the carving bug myself....well ill make just about anything out of wood if asked to......started when i was a youngster as my grandfather had great skills himself......i remember a puppet in particular which was suspended from elastic bands between two strips of wood...when you pressed the strips of wood together the puppet would do sommersaults and handstands......i was amazed he had made this from scraps of wood and beleive this was what attracted me initialy.....funnily enough i made a puppet for my son a couple of years ago when he had a notion for pinochio...i dont usually paint my carvings but on this occassion i did......iusually try and use the grains in the wood to emphisise features within my carvings......
