Is poker really a sport? Waht do you think? I think it is, and the more you practice the better you get.

Hmmm--- I don't consider anything a sport whenyou can actually gain weight while you're doing it (eating a bunch of junk food and drinking beer, etc.), lol.. :PIt's more likea pastime or hobby.

hmmm, except maybe golf.. and darts... is playing darts a sport??

I would like to use a quote of Daniel Negreanu:

"Daniel on his passion

"I'd like to continue to usher in a new era of Poker throughout the world. The old image of poker's smoky rooms and questionable ethics has been replaced by a new generation of poker players who take our sport seriously. Most of these pro's are my friends, and although we compete seriously, we really enjoy competing against each other and respect each other. We are committed to the fun, excitement and personal challenge of poker. You're not just competing at the table, it's a personal challenge, too. And when you add in the unpredictable nature of the cards, it is, in my opinion, one of the most challenging things you can do."

Quote is from mtv stacked (lol who knows if he has said that himself or if someone of mtv just invented these lines)

Poker isn't a sport, for some it's a hobby, for some work and for some a way of life but sport? .. no.

Agree with you there m8. Not a sport, once you know the rules,odds, outs etc and when you want to bluff, its just a question of luck.

Just never my luck

I think that poker has some characteristics of the sports, but it's not completely a sport;

it's fun, it's patience but not completely a sport
