Evil I totally disagree that these games are UK Friendly?

How can that be when 5 out of 6 games start at 10PM GMT?

Best I could hope for would be a 12 Midnight finish then have 6 hours sleep. That does not seen friendly to me when I have to get up for work next day.

I do agree however thatthere is a fine balance keeping everyone happy. I just think that my 4 or 5 games a month will not get me very far up the leaderboard and if anyything, it will have the adverse effect that I will probably not play any.

Great idea, just needs a lot of thinking about. I am NOT knocking you hun btw......I am just a little pissed that I seem to miss all the best games due to their starting times.

I think that if there were a separate leader board for each buy in (by time and day), then both the problems of times (Euro vs. US) and number of tourneys would be solved.

UK friendly i.e not during normal working hours or dinner time like they are for the US players.

How can that be when 5 out of 6 games start at 10PM GMT?

That is because we all have DST and where ever .com is doesn't. Made it so they're an hour later. But other than that the games are on the same schedule they've always been.

I do agree however thatthere is a fine balance keeping everyone happy. I just think that my 4 or 5 games a month will not get me very far up the leaderboard and if anyything, it will have the adverse effect that I will probably not play any.

The leader board is just a bonus on top of the money added buyins. So regardless of the leaderboard you're still getting a good deal on the buyins. If enough ppl are interested, I would be happy to add one or two earlier games games that would count towards the leader board but no guarantee about there being money added to those ones.

Great idea, just needs a lot of thinking about. I am NOT knocking you hun btw......I am just a little pissed that I seem to miss all the best games due to their starting times.

No worries I didn't think you were, especially since I have nothing to do with the scheduling. But if you think that sucks just think all of us Americans don't get to play any of the VIP games or the Wass/CD Championship games

Point taken evil....

I totally agree with your last point. You sure do get a raw deal regarding the cd and Titan games. I don't put the VIP on the same level as any buy in though, due to the donk factor (I have played it only 4 times and have seen at least one each time).

Anyway I'm distracting from the topic.

I am not bothered about the added money, play the games earlier and I will play regardless of additional monies. Hell, Doc and Mr Wass have put enough money out there....

This is a great idea - it should be fun.

We need a chat thread opened - so we can brag and cry.

The scoring you proposed I think is fine. Keep it simple - the more you try to fix things, the more they get tangled up.

See you at the tables - and see me rise on the board

Cheers

You should be able to post in the main thread lol so you can moan and cry or gloat and brag in there

I'm not sure if you can find any use of the following leaderboard scoring idea, it is not my idea, but it is used in an other forum where I play, and I have to say - the result is that those games are the absolute best games. So here is a concept in case u can use any part of it.

Positive points are given for only the people that finish in the top half. There is also bonus points for the winner. The people in the bottom half get negative points... that is a deduction ... however no-one can ever be in "minus" the worst you can be is back to zero. The league ends when someone reaches a predetermined number of points.

So, people play tight - cause they do not want to lose points... result - great games! Even if you do not play all the games - you have a reasonable chanse, as people go up and DOWN the leaderboard.
You cannot stop playing, cause until the top score is reached - you just cannot win so you do have to play more.

I really like this format.
An other - or additional thought would be to give bonus points to the top finishers. perhaps make the bonus points dependent on the number of participants. For example - give as bonus points - as much as how manny dollars people won divided by 10.

I did say earlier - keep it simple - and that is still probably the best thing - but it felt like I wanted to share these ideas also with you.

Cheers
Judith

PS. I missed the game today - hope to play tomorrow

Nice one JJ. This format is the best there is out there and is being used more and more. It is simple to use and easy to keep check of.

Brilliantly simple!!!

just 1 interesting point on the first fri I played both .com games. In the first I finished 14 and got 18 points. In the second I finished 2nd and only got 12 points. This was due to the number of reg players but it seems silly not to have some kind of bonus for the final table or top 5 so that the win will mean more than the score relative to the number of players in the game.

Well i dont have a suggestion as i like the way its going I do however have a request as I see that Biotch has already tried to beat me to it, but I am asking that you ban Bubbles from playing these games. Her current lead is very stressful for me and I think she is beginning to cause me medical problems, so being that she is hazardous to my health, i think this should be taken into serious consideration.
