Complaint about Live Wass Tourney

Hi all

I really have to moan about this one now. The tournament is held at such an unfriendly family time of the year. Us parents have to dish out only 2 months earlier for christmas and as all of you know, christmas is getting extremely expensive.

It proves for parents difficult to pay to go on a mini holiday (travel cost, buy in cost, sleeping arrangements, food etc). Plus its bloddy cold around that time a year no matter where the tourney is being held.

I would really like to see the tournaments happening in April to September where everyone gets a chance to save up for it. Most of us who went to any of the tourneys know how much fun it is.

So Doc!! This post was for you. Please consider this for future events.

I hope I have spoken for many of us who would like to come but simply cant afford it.

great suggestions hun - like most of the games i do not know if i can make it until a few weeks before and i always struggle to make the february one as still paying for xmas usually

For me any time of the year is a struggle to get to these live events But Feb, Mars and April is by fare the wurst month in the year

Totally agree with whAt you have said Jupi. I am already stressing over how I am going to pay for this weeknd of poker plus the cost of Christmas. Also agree about the weather being cold at this time of the year. A summer tourny would be great.

In the main I agree too. We will be struggling after Christmas too. The reason it was arranged for february is because last year we used the same weekend. We used February and September and it works out just over six months apart. If we want to keep them six months apart and we move the Feb one to April then the September one is going to be in November, which again is cold and very close to Christmas. If we move the two games closer together then we'll have people complaining that they can't do it because there isn't enough time between them for them to save the money to attend twice.

Also don't forget school summer holidays. When the kids are off school families tend to take holidays and trips etc. especially in the summer.

Also, the reason we have more than one is for people who can only make one, this way they get a second option. Chumley is arranging some other live events with Wass. They are going to be higher buyins but sattelites will hopefully be run to help with those costs.

As I said at the beginning, the situation is not anywhere near to ideal for me. If I'm still wanted to arrange the second one of next year I will take any suggestions on board for when to have it and where to have it etc. After all we want as many people there as possible.

We try to space the live events as much as possible to give everyone the chance to attend at least one, as Block mentions, there are more live events being set up at different times of the year.

In addition to that, we are also going to start running satellites to the live events, which will enable you to win your buy-in and hotel costs, which will be live on the new WassPoker (Without giving too much away - its SOON ).

This is great news for the future. I am sure all of us would welcome more tournaments and the chance of winning the buyins etc.

I do understand the problem with the tourneys being too close together and also the problem with summer holidays. But still, maybe we could move the tourneys more like to June and then November? That way the single people withouth children could go to the one in November and the rest of us in June? Or maybe the childless pokerplayers could attend 2 tourneys since most of us can only make 1 tourney per year anyway.

I am still keeping in mind the weather issue as well.

i think we are moaning about that one since the stone ages.....the southeners gets the short straw...and who wants to be stuck for hours on the m1, m5 or any other poxy motorway.......

was it swansea? ive convinced myself it was cardiff live - or maybe i was made to be convinced by reading everyday that i attended cardiff live??
