Hi there
When playing against poor players......live or internet....dont bluff save your bluffs for the final table where the better players will be........ just play solid poker.... a bluff or check raise will just go over their heads... pick solid hands .... push them hard when you have a great hand.....
Next know your enermy..... take a small note pad......make notes on the people at your table.... it can be very intimidating to them.....take notes on what hands people open with .... eg if someone people call a raise with 79 clubs ...i call them flushers or if someone has poket jacks and then the flop comes A A 5 and your sat with an ace... and they just wont put them down .... these i call klingons ..... Take notes if they are loose or tight ....... if you get knocked out .....dont leave the pub stay and take notes on the final table players.... make a list at the back of your note book of the last 10 players .... if you do that every week ...you will soon find out, that i gess 5 of them are there at the final table most of the time. That way when you meet them in the early rounds you know they are the danger men.
Next if you are a good internet player.... but are struggling in a live game.... you need to look whats different...... well people can see you and how you react.... 1st tip when you are delt your cardslook at them the same way then place on the table the same way weather you are going to play or fold.....And do that every time....every time. Now look at the guy on your left .... look how how he handles his cards ... look how he holds them and puts them on the table ......then make note of if he folds or plays. now do this every hand....you will soon know when the guy is going to fold ... this effectivly gives you 2 dealer buttons ....when you get good at this do it on the 2 people to the left ....and this can give you 3 dealer buttons if you know they are both going to fold
2nd tip ..... when your at the table and dealer is about to turn over the flop....what are you looking at .....the cards right.....WRONG...You should be looking at peoples faces to see their reaction to the cards ..... the cards will still be there.... you can also see if anyone else is looking at reactions.
