Last night I sat in on a 10 player Sit N go at WassPoker. The play was very loose and chips were flying all around the table. I just sat there and folded every hand that iI was dealt, including the following hands. 77, KJ, A9, A10. When there were only four players left at the table and my stack was below 700 chips, I drew JJ on the button and made my first bet. Two players stayed in with me and the flop was all cards below Jack. they checked, and i raised. One droped out, the remaining player had fewer chips than I. Turn and river left the odds in my favor and I pushed him to all in. At the end of the hand there were only three of us at the table and my style of play switched to very agressive. The other two players had many more chips than I but with agressive play I was finally able to win the game.
By entering this post I am not claiming to be a great SNG player, in fact i consider myself just a student of the game. This is just the only style of play which seems to work for me in Sit N gos. I have tried other styles of play and always seem to loose when I do. By playing this way I do not always win but the chip total in my bank always seems to be increasing. If you are searching for a way to win Sit N Gos and have never tried a very tight start with a very agressive ending, I recomend that you try it.

I like your style madman.
Its a long time since I played SNG's butI used to play them like that. Monsters get played all the rest get mucked. Once you get down to the last three the chip count isn't that important provided the blind levels aren't going to kill you too quickly.

Seems like a good strategy madman but I always try to be flexible in my strategy.
Its all very well saying your going to play it tight but what if you get a table full of limpers - might be worthwhile changing your strategy and seeing a few cheap flops just in case you hit that monster. If you get a table full of tightwads it may be worth loosening up and trying to steal a few blinds.
Someone once said 'tools not rules'. Seems like good advice.

I tend to agree with dee87 as the last SnG I played all the players were playing tight , when you doubled the blinds it would cause them to fold. It made for a boring game until the blinds got big enough it started to force them to play.
I feel as the only sure pat way to play them is each to there own , with this I mean take your winning ways and put them to work.

I feel you have to play a style that suits you but be adaptable, with me i have no style i play how i feel and won my fair off S&G from that way, but i have learnt some restraint, i don't always go all-in now :Plol.
Lets be honest no style willmake you win all the times as poker is a game off chance and unless you sitting with a royal flush you can be beat, now i know that there are players who have done very well in how they player poker and skill is a big part too and yes i have been bluffed off a pot many a time and then had the cards shown to me and i am left there open mouthed but i learn, as poker is always about learning.

10 seat SnG tourneys I play usually pay more than one place, so I find it sometimes pays to let the others exterminate each other if I have the chips to do so.
No need to take risks and end up with no prize money at all sometimes.....once with 5 players left there was one of those re-raise frenzies that happens when multiple pocket pairs are dealt to several players...leaving only two of us, and me 20 dollars richer (Titan Maui). I didn't win it and hadn't much chance with rags and a massive chip leader...but I wasn't complaining.
That was an extremely odd series of circumstances for sure, but it's worth letting others knock themselves out instead of going out yourself

playing tight early is a good idea, but i wouldnt have folded some of the hands you had, i like to play alittle more patiently, making small raises without going over the top, agrre let the knuckleheads take each other out, but not playing hands at all will leave you short stacked, and when you are short stacked everyone calls you.... which could be a great thing or a horrible thing
