I stopped at the store last week, and paid more than I ever thought I would for a pack of cigs. I walked out and said to myself that is the last pack I will ever buy. I announced that to my kids, who were very skeptical. I called my hubby and told him. That pack of cigs lasted me about 4 days. I'd only smoke a few puffs at a time.
Last Friday was my last full day without one. There have been quite a few "white knuckle" moments. I just work threw them by keeping my body and mind busy. Chewing on a toothpick has also helped. My hubby is not allowed to smoke around me. He says he wants to quit, but I don't think his mind is there yet. I walked in on him smoking in the garage the other day, the smell made me sick to my stomach.
I have smoked for almost 20 years and tried to quit a few times. What is different now .......I mentally REALLY don't want to be a smoker anymore. Like Jax said, you can't really plan it. I just decided to be done smoking, and that will is now stronger than my urge to smoke.
