Chat room / Java

Hi guys
Having no luck getting the chat room to work
I am using BT browser and the message that keeps coming up reads i need a newer version of Java but i have the latest just don't know how to configure it to work on the BT browser it does work on IE but i have children who use the same computer and stuck with Adsite pop ups all over the place when i use that so don't really want to.
Does anyone else know how i can get the BT browser to run Java?

i suggest you download mozilla firefox and enter chatroom with that as it seems to work for 99% of people
