Default xenia has a prob.

NOT DRINK RELATED. Sorry git.
My laptop is wireless connected on a secure network.
But an unsecured network with no signal keeps cutting in.
Each time my main connection has to acquire my IP address to re connect.
This takes time.
Using Windows not Mac can I delete this signal/site
I like using my laptop because I can watch the school and the television at the same time.
Online poker can be boring NOT the Wass games like BRL and CD 1VIP
I just want a stable connection.
Having made this post I have lost connection again to this unsecured site. Now on my old desk top. Hopefully will be able to play

In a german computer magazin there was a manual how to boost your wireless signal with simple equipment. It was just styropor and some copper wire cut into pieces with specific length. They used millimeter paper to put them in correct position. Perhaps this would work to close out the other signal. I havent tried it yet and dont know if there is an english manual available in the net.

how far away are you sat from the modem with yr wireless?
Are there any objects that are in the way of you and the " said modem"??
Is the modem you used in a different room to you and yr wireless laptop?

I can only suggest the following things:

A: Moving yr modem so that there is nothing blocking yr signal - so either move yr room so that yr closer to the modem or move yr modem so that its closer to you
B: Signals can be affected if yr sat in one room and yr modem is in another room - the thickness of the walls may play some part in distorting the signal slightly - so again you may have to move the modem or re situate yrself closer to the modem

At this moment this is all i can think of, if none of these apply then just let me know!!

Different room, but I can see the main desktop. I think it is this unsecured wireless site with no signal that keeps cutting in.
1960 bungalow so there are no stud walls.
All I have to do is change computers.
Been fine so far today but it must be when the network gets busy.
Thanks for your suggestions though

Hi Xenia I think we need a little more info about your problem. Are you using windows? Are you using the winows utility, or one that came with your equipment? Are you using a "dongle" or is the WiFi built in to your laptop? You should be able to instruct the wifi utility only to connect to a chosen signal, and not connect automagically to the strongest one. If signal strength is the issue, Maplins do some antennae/boosters, made by Hawking Tech. I have a mini satellite dish thing which is directional, so you could use one to "point" at your access point. You can make one of these if you have a usb dongle, using a coke can or a colander. Look up "woktenna" on google for some guides. I understand that you work in a school, there is surely an Lab technician, or IT person who might be able to advise, perhaps a small bribe will elicit some help. Connection probs are a nightmare when playing poker, I know, I lost $215.00 last week due to this.
