how can they get reputation points

how do people get there reputation thingy up when they have never posted not even once. i have been looking to see if some one was a member here and as i went through the names i noticed that some people had a green square even though they had no posts.and i was wondering if any 1 knew why this is.what have they done to deserve them.or does it just show people will click things for no reason.

thanks peeps for giving me some rep.i also got my showcase awards too now so i no longer look like a bloody nooooooooooooooob.very very coooooooooooooooooooooooooool cheers..its ridiculous how buzzing i am just because i got 2 green squares and 2 awards now .how sad must i be.. pmsl from high in the clouds forgot to say i had given you some back and the rest too

it does that to me all the time larry...i tried fillin your rep up today aswell but ..well you know the drill......but you are now at 2 squares...
