$140 win

Okay, I did not place first place, but I did come in second place and the payout is nice for a FREEROLL. My best money finish ever. I am not gonna complain. In fact I am registered for another tourney just like this tomorrow but with 150 more opponents.

I believe I fell into this tourney at the right time. The previous week, there was a Scott Ian Sonicsphere freeroll that paid a winner a 2 person trip to London. Well, the server went down, and I thought they would reschedule the freeroll to the following Wednesday. Instead, they rescheduled it for the following day. Well, I never received the notice, so I just wrote to the poker site saying that was unfair. To make things right, they said they gave me a ticket to a new depositor's $1000 freeroll. While I registered for the New Depositor's freeroll, I saw this $1000 freeroll out there too, being held a day earlier. I just went out there and tried to enroll in it, and voila, I got lucky. Whatever , the reason it was out there, I final tabled on the correct day, and came in 2nd on the right day, for a $140 payout on the right day. I have placed first in several tourneys that haven't paid over $5, so this was nice.

Never can go bad with a free roll win especially for a 140. There looks like it was a small field and that probably even made it better for you. Hope you reinvestment turns out.

Great job! My question is how you approached the freeroll in terms of play. I know many people tend to be over-aggressive in freeroll play and go all-in with mediocre hands, or any pair for that matter. Did you play only relatively great hands or did you find yourself bluffing a lot?
