Back door flush/straight - When the last two community cards make a players hand, even if that was not the hand they were intending to hit
Bad Beat - Whaen a very strong hand is beaten by a lucky hand
Bankroll - the amount of maney you have to wager
Behind - You are classed as behind if you have a weaker hand than your opponent
Belly buster - A draw to fill an inside straight; a gut shot
Bet for value - Betting in order to raise the amount in the pot, not to make your opponents fold. Usually done when a player has the nuts
Bet into - To bet before a stronger hand, or a player who bet strongly on the previous round
Bet the pot - To bet the total value of the pot
Betting interval - the period during which a player has the right to act
Biycle - The lowest hand possible in Lo versions of poker; also called the wheel
Big Blind - The forced bet in second position before any cards are dealt.
Big slick - Knickname for the Ace-King combination
Blank - A card of no value to a players hand
Blind - A forced bet made by one or more players to the dealers left. These bets must be placed before any cards are dealt to start the action on the first round
Blind raise - When a player raises without first looking at their cards
Bluff - To bet or raise with a hand that is very unlikely to win
Board - In flop games, the community cards. In seven-card stud, it's the four cards that are dealt face up to each player.
Boat - Nickname for a full-house
Bottom pair - When you use the lowest card on the flop to make a pair
Bounty - A small amount of cash awarded to a player when he knocks out a nominated player in a tournament
Bring in - the forced bet made on the first betting round by the player dealt the lowest card showing in seven card stud
Broadway - Nickname for an offsuit Ace high straight #
Bullet - Nickname for an Ace
Bullets - Nickname for a pair of Aces
Bump - To raise
Burn - To deal off the top card, face down, before dealing out the cards (to prevent cheating); or to set aside a card which has been accidently revealed.
Bust - A worthless hand that has failed to improve as the player had hoped
Bust a player - To knock a player out of a tournament, to take all of another players chips
Bust out - To be eliminated from a tournament - to loose all your chips
Busted - Broke, tapped
Button - In all flop games, a small disk used to signify the player in the last position if a house dealer is used
Buy-in - The minimum amount of money required to sit down in a particular game
